The contrast struck them in a way that ignited a passion for conscious consumerism and fueled their desire to create an ethically produced product without harming the surrounding environment and community. From product sourcing to production, they are committed to sustainable practices. Their plastic-free hair accessories are made with materials that include GOTS Certified organic cotton, OEKO-TEX certified non-toxic dyes, and natural rubber from FSC Certified trees and made in a Fairtrade production facilities. Fun Fact: KOOSHOO means "feeling good" in the native language of Norfolk Island in the South Pacific, off the coast of Australia. The local language is a unique mix of Tahitian and 18th Century English. Co-founder, Rachel, grew up on this tiny island, where her family has lived for seven generations. Sustainable living is a must for the island residents, as they rely on a kinship with nature in order to survive.
